2. Moors Valley Country Park and Forest in Ashley Heath

One of the country’s best rural recreational facilities, with each unique visit bringing out the explorer in everyone.

Dorset Council employs a team of Rangers to look after the Park and Visitor Centre. Forestry England manages 8,000 hectares of woodland and heath between Dorset and Surrey, which includes the forest in Moors Valley.

3. Whitecliff Park, Whitecliff, Poole

Overlooking the harbour, this flat park has been created from reclaimed land and is the perfect place to take children learning to cycle or scoot. There is a large playground, trees to climb, a large car park and numerous cafés within walking distance too.


4. The Quomps, Central Christchurch

The Quomps is located next to the picturesque Christchurch Quay and runs alongside the river Stour. It comprises of a medium-sized civic park, playground and water park. With good parking and many restaurants and cafés to choose from, it is a super family day out.


5. Alum Chine Play Park, Bournemouth

This playground is located right on the beach, adjacent to a cafe, and within walking distance of Bournemouth town centre. It is themed on the novel "Treasure Island," whose author, Robert Louis Stevenson, lived at the top of Alum Chine from 1885 to 1887.
