We’re at breaking point.
2024 was the hottest year ever recorded. Climate change, driven by burning fossil fuels, is making extreme weather-like storms, floods, and typhoons-more frequent and more dangerous. The biggest polluters are fuelling this crisis, but the people least responsible are often the ones suffering the most.
In the Philippines, despite contributing only a tiny share of global emissions, communities faced a devastating typhoon season last year enduring six powerful storms in just one month. In the same year, Shell made £19 billion in profit.
Each time a climate-fueled typhoon strikes, homes and cherished belongings are lost. Filipinos are resilient, but no one should have to rebuild their lives again and again.
Drop in anytime between 3.15pm and 5.30pm to view our exhibition in the downstairs function room of the Triangle Taproom (formerly Poole Hill Brewery). This exhibition shares the powerful, personal stories of those on the frontlines of climate change. Through images of treasured belongings destroyed by typhoons in the Philippines, alongside audio recordings and video interviews with those who’ve suffered first-hand, we invite you to experience the stories of Filipino communities at breaking point and find out how you can help.
Each photograph and story represents not just a loss, but a call for change. It’s a reminder that the climate crisis is not distant-it’s happening now. We stand together in solidarity, demanding action from those most responsible. Come, see the exhibition, hear their voices, and join our movement for climate justice. Together, we can fight for a better, more just future for everyone.
