Join the Oceanarium team on Friday 8th May 2026, to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday and his dedicated work.

From 8th – 10th May anyone with the name DAVID can get FREE entry to the Oceanarium alongside a paying guest. This discount is only available when buying on arrival, and proof of name must be provided. *

On Friday 8th May, head to Bay View Terrace and get creative by making a 100th birthday card. The best card will be sent directly to Sir David Attenborough and the creator will WIN a FREE Oceanarium family 4 return ticket. Don’t forget to stop at the Play Zone for David Attenborough themed colouring. During your underwater voyage, be inspired by David Attenborough quotes, which you will see in various locations around the Oceanarium. The celebration doesn’t stop there! Swim by the scheduled feeding presentations for animal enrichment and informative talks by the Oceanarium’s education and conservation hosts. *

The Oceanarium is dedicated to conservation and education, therefore we are celebrating 100 years of the worlds leading conservationist. Sir David Attenborough is globally renowned as a broadcaster and naturalist who has dedicated his life to environmental conservation, utilizing his storytelling to advocate for biodiversity protection, and wildlife habitat preservation, supporting initiatives focused on restoring the natural world through education and practical action.

As Sir David Attenborough said, “No one will protect what they don’t care about; and no one will care about what they have never experienced,” so dive in, come face to fin with hundreds of different species, whilst learning more about the issues they face in the wild, and how important conservation is to vulnerable and endangered species, with a memorable underwater adventure.

Tickets are valid all day, so be sure to stop by at the scheduled talks, take a bite to eat in the Offshore Café and end your visit in The Cove Shop, home to a huge variety of eco-friendly plush toys and other sustainable products!

Oceanarium opening hours:
Open daily from 10am. Last admission is at 4pm, closing time at 5pm.
